Adding a new chapter in my career…

I have had a crazy, busy week adding a mentoring role to the clinic with my first two interns. Ebony and Rebecca are both veterinary nurses with an interest in canine rehabilitation. They have just completed their 40 hour internship with me and it has been a real pleasure to work with such positive and capable nurses. I am really looking forward to them achieving their certification with the Canine Rehabilition Institute.

More internships coming up

I’ll have little breather after this. However, my January commitments are already filling up quickly. Not only will I be helping to coordinate an ABM workshop but I’ll be mentoring a couple of vets in their rehabilitation internship as well.

Pay it forward

Teaching and mentoring are both passions of mine. I have received so much valuable information from other generous practitioners that it needs to be shared far and wide. Pay it forward, right? That’s what we do in scouting anyway.

Juggling the work life balance

Yes, that’s why I need that breather in December. There’s the canoe course, the Bunnings sausage sizzle and the Xmas tree fundraisers, kayak paddle ball and maybe a venturer scout camp of two. Not sure how I manage to fit my full time work in as an integrative veterinarian (hint, it involves chocolate).
