Last week, I was at a very special event at Box Hill TAFE. It was the start of the new Graduate Diploma in Animal Biomechanical Medicine. It has been six years since RMIT closed the Graduate Diploma in Animal Chiropractic. After many 100s of hours getting the new course up and going, 26 very keen mix of vets, chiropractors and osteopaths greeted Drs Kate Haines, Rowan Kilmartin, Ilona Hudson and myself.
Four days later, we have discussed the seriousness of safety when working with horses (bit like scuba diving, the many different ways you can visit the hospital), the injuries that dogs can inflict on themselves when going for walks and how to start feeling an animal with your hands, hands hands and less with your head.
I can’t wait for Workshop 2. Only 19 sleeps to go!
